This living room, with everything an ordinary living room has, is distorted and gravitating towards the center of the couch. This is to show the seemingly put-together appearance of my family. The blank faces of my childhood friends and I were captured during a birthday party. In this piece, I wanted to depict the sadness of growing up in an immigrant family.  As mentioned in my sculpture piece, Little Striped Dress, we were provided with every material thing that was needed to grow up. However, to this day, one thing has always been missing for us: emotional connection within our families.
